The Metrin Accelerated Performance System is an advanced skincare system that pairs a gentle glycolic exfoliating serum with a deeply hydrating treatment. Together they boost skin renewal, smooth rough texture and support long-term skin resilience.

The APS is designed as an intensive anti-aging treatment that works alongside your regular Metrin routine. It helps refine pores, brighten dull tone and soften the look of fine lines without aggressive peels or harsh scrubs.

What’s in the System

AP1 – Revitalizing Glycolic Complex

A targeted AHA glycolic serum that gently lifts away built-up dead skin cells. By supporting your skin’s natural renewal cycle, it helps smooth rough patches, reduce congestion and improve the appearance of fine lines and early wrinkles.

The texture is light and non-greasy with a mild jasmine scent. It is formulated to be effective yet suitable for most skin types when used as directed.

AP2 – Reactivating Serum

A hydrating, skin-reactivating serum that restores moisture and comfort after exfoliation. It helps calm the skin, support the barrier and keep the complexion soft, plump and balanced.

Botanical extracts and humectants draw water into the skin while soothing ingredients help reduce the risk of dryness or tightness.

APS is ideal if you are noticing dull tone, rough texture, early lines, visible pores or a loss of smoothness and clarity. It suits most normal, combination and mature skin types.

If your skin is very sensitive, reactive or currently inflamed, introduce APS slowly and patch test first.

How to Use the Accelerated Performance System

Overnight exfoliating treatment.

Nights

  1. Cleanse your skin as usual with Metrin #1 Deep Cleanser and #2 Lathering Cleanser.
  2. Apply a small amount of Revitalizing Glycolic Complex to dry skin avoiding the eye area.
  3. Do not put last 3 steps of Metrin on face afterwards.
  4. Allow the Revitalizing Glycolic Complex to work overnight.

Mornings

  1. Use Metrin #1 Deep Cleanser and #2 Lathering Cleanser to wash away the Glycolic Complex. 
  2. Apply the Reactivating Serum to the face (can be applied to neck and chest too).
  3. Follow with steps #3 Vita Conditioner, #4 Protective lotion and #5 Enriched Vita Conditioner. 
  4. Apply SPF the following morning (AHA increases sun sensitivity).

Suggested schedule

  • Weeks 1–2: Use APS 2–3 nights per week.
  • Weeks 3–4: Increase to every second night if skin is comfortable.
  • Week 5+: Maintain every second night or 3–4 nights per week as tolerated.

Mild tingling when applying the glycolic serum is normal. If you feel strong stinging, redness or persistent discomfort, rinse off, stop use and reduce frequency once your skin has settled.

Do not combine APS with other exfoliating acids or retinol on the same night.

Accelerated Performance System FAQ

Can I use APS with the Metrin 5-Step System?

Yes. Use the Revitalizing Glycolic Complex at night, but do not follow with Steps 3, 4, or 5. In the morning, use the Reactivating Serum between Steps 2 and 3 of your normal routine.

Does glycolic acid increase sun sensitivity?

Yes. AHAs like glycolic acid can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen the next day and limit direct sun exposure while using APS.

Can I use APS with retinol or other exfoliating acids?

No. Using APS alongside retinol or other exfoliating acids can increase the risk of irritation. Stick to one active exfoliating treatment at a time.

Is the APS suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, but introduce it slowly. Start with 2–3 nights per week, patch test before first use, and reduce frequency if you notice ongoing redness, stinging, or discomfort.

How often should I use the Accelerated Performance System?

Most people do well using APS 2–4 nights per week. Begin on the lower end, then increase only if your skin feels comfortable and calm.

How long will the products last?

Used as directed, most customers find the APS products last around 4–6 months, depending on how often they apply them.
